ScaleBuildApps ("we", "us") is building Finlane, an app to help you track and split your spending automatically. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account information you provide when you sign up: your name, phone number, and email address.
• Transaction data parsed from SMS alerts (Android) or bank transaction emails (iOS, via Gmail) that your bank already sends you -- merchant, amount, date, and category.
• Google user data, if you connect Gmail: the App requests read-only access (gmail.readonly) solely to detect and parse bank transaction emails already in your inbox. We do not read, store, or process any email that isn't a recognised transaction alert. We do not access your contacts, drafts, or any other Google service beyond what's needed to identify bank emails.
• Device contacts, with your permission, to let you add friends to shared expenses and to power mutual-contact verification before anyone can add you to a group.

How we use it

We use this data solely to provide the App's core functionality: automatically categorising your spending, showing you budgets and insights, and enabling expense splitting with people you choose. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use Google user data for any purpose beyond providing or improving the App's own features.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, under any circumstances.
• We do not share your financial data or Google user data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
• We do not use Google user data to train any AI or machine learning models outside of what's needed to categorise your own transactions.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure), protected by access controls that ensure only you can read or modify your own data. PDF reports you export are generated on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from within the App's Settings, or by emailing us at the address below. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

Your choices

You can disconnect Gmail access at any time from your Google Account settings or from within the App. You can revoke contacts permission from your device settings at any time.

What this is

This App (Finlane) is a personal finance tool that automatically tracks your spending and helps you split expenses with others. It is provided by ScaleBuildApps.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens under it. You must provide accurate information, including a real, working phone number for verification.

Acceptable use

• You won't use the App to harass, spam, or add people to shared expenses without their knowledge or consent.
• You won't attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the App's systems.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of any expense or transaction you manually enter.

No financial advice

The App categorises and displays your spending for informational purposes. It is not a bank, is not a substitute for professional financial advice, and does not guarantee the accuracy of automatically parsed transaction data.

Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled, and are managed entirely through your Apple or Google account settings.

Changes

We may update these terms as the App evolves. We'll let you know of material changes through the app.
